Patients with Special Needs

Smiles By Rosie warmly welcomes all patients, including those with special needs. Some examples are patients with:

• Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Behavioral Challenges
• Cerebral Palsy
• Down Syndrome and other Chromosomal Abnormalities
• Intellectual Disabilities
• Traumatic Brain Injuries

Our approach to each patient differs depending on the personality and needs of that individual. We pride ourselves on our friendly, relaxed ways of communicating. Please let us know if we can send helpful materials or photographs of the office to a patient's day program, home, guardian's home, and/or group home.

If staff members accompany a patient, we often ask for their assistance in the treatment room. It is very important to bring all paperwork to every appointment, including med sheets, guardianship documentation, and house paperwork, even if nothing has changed.

If a patient is not his or her own guardian, we will send our office consent forms to the guardian directly. We will then be happy to schedule the patient's appointment on receipt of all paperwork.
